da apostaganha: Of course, this time of year sees the rumour mill starting up again, and there has been one eye-catching piece of transfer gossip doing the rounds this week regarding Leeds United.
Indeed, the Whites have been linked with a move for Southampton’s Che Adams, but they aren’t the only team looking at signing him.
Football Insider’s report states that Nottingham Forest are actually in pole position when it comes to the race to sign the former Birmingham City man.

Leeds missing out on a striker that scored over 20 goals for the Blues in the Championship last term may sound like a bit of a nightmare, but it may not be such bad news if he does end up at the City Ground instead of Elland Road.
It sounds preposterous, but Forest signing the £15m man may actually slightly work in Leeds’ favour.
Firstly, the striker is massively out of form, he’s not scored for his new club yet, and his confidence will likely have taken a knock from his poor start at St Mary’s.
More importantly though, it’s unlikely that the Reds will move for Dwight Gayle if they sign Che Adams as there simply wouldn’t be space in the squad or on the wage bill for him.
The Reds have been heavily linked with Gayle by Phil Hay lately, and if that deal doesn’t happen it will hand a massive boost to Leeds.
Forest are 10th in the table, but if they win their game in hand they’ll move within two points of third-place – meaning that they’re still contenders for a playoff spot.
Gayle is a proven scorer at this level netting 47 goals in his last two terms in the Championship, and a move to Forest would immediately boost their chances of promotion while weakening Leeds’.
Therefore Marcelo Bielsa’s side shouldn’t be too disheartened if Forest land Adams ahead of them. Consequently, there would be a silver lining of them not bringing in Gayle.
In other news, one player may have been given a lifeline at Leeds.
