da 888: According to Goal, Victor Moses is considering pushing for a move away from Chelsea in January in order to find more regular football elsewhere.
What’s the story?
Having played a key role as a wing-back throughout Antonio Conte’s reign at Stamford Bridge – winning a Premier League title and FA Cup crown along the way – Moses has slipped down the Blues’ pecking order following Maurizio Sarri’s instalment and the subsequent reversion to a back-four system.
So far this season, the 37-cap Nigeria international has featured just twice in the Premier League and has amassed only five outings in all competitions.

At 27-years-old, Moses has reached a point in his career where he really ought to be playing week in week out, ideally in the more attacking role he favoured prior to his conversion into a wing-back under Conte. In order to fulfil this ambition, though, he’ll likely have to move to a club a little further down the Premier League table.
Plenty of top flight English clubs will be on red alert following the emergence of the aforementioned report. Southampton would therefore be wise to act fast to ensure that they win the race to Moses’ signature in the winter transfer window.

A key figure upon arrival
The Saints are in dire need of some added attacking quality and Moses would doubtless become an immediate feature of their starting XI upon arrival. Therefore, this is a move that would suit all involved.
The south coast club currently sit in 16th place in the table with just one win and six points to their name with nine matches played. At this stage, they have only mustered up six league goals, which is by no means enough.
The extra flair, dynamism and goal threat that Moses would bring would see him become a key figure in Mark Hughes’ squad. What’s more, the Chelsea man would likely also be an affordable option. The fact that he is clearly unsettled and deemed surplus to requirements by the Blues means he could probably be tempted to St Mary’s Stadium for far less than his £18 million Transfermarkt valuation.
What do you think, Saints fans – would Moses be a wise winter target?
