da mrbet: Over the past few years, the Manchester United youth system has been pumping out a wealth of young talent, most of which have received very little attention from the club’s first team management.
There are some positives however; the emergence of players like Marcus Rashford and Cameron-Borthwick Jackson have displayed a potential change at Old Trafford, with a renewed focus on developing the fantastic array of young talent at the club’s disposal.
If Mourinho wants long term success at his new club, it is essential that he continues this trend and continues to bring young exciting players into the first team fray.
Here are FIVE Man United youngsters who SHOULD be in Mourinho’s plans next season…
Joshua Harrop
One player that is certain to have an impact at United over the coming years of Joshua Harrop.
A midfielder by trade, Harrop is characterised by his transitional play and dribbling ability.
He has cemented his place in the U21 side with the club, and on his day can look absolutely unstoppable, often looking like he has outgrown the age group.
The next natural development for the young midfielder is an opportunity with the first team, which would allow him to highlight his ability on a global level.
He was handed a new two year deal last summer and has since spent time training with the first team, so United bosses certainly see something in the youngster; but it is time for repay that potential with an opportunity in the first team.
Axel Tuanzebe
Axel Tuanzebe is another exciting talent, having recently made the subs bench for United and also made his debut for the England U19 side.
A strong central defender, he is renowned for his leadership on the field and his fantastic ability to read the game.
He has been training with the first team for the last year, and with United’s defensive problems you can definitely see a opening for him next season.
With fantastic ability and the attitude to match, the sky is the limit for this young defender.
Roshaun Williams
Another talent is Axel Tuanzebe’s central defensive partner Roshaun Williams.
Williams first made headlines after breaking his school’s 25 year old 100m record, taking the record of Olympian Darren Campbell.
Since signing at the age of nine, Williams has cemented his place in each of the developmental sides and has become renowned for his pace, with management also commenting on his commanding ability on the ball.
He was included in first team squad’s on occasion last season, giving him that first taste of first team action. Next year he needs to kick on and be given a chance to take that further.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah
Timothy Fosu-Mensah, like Marcus Rashford, was a part of the first team squad a number of times last season. But unlike Rashford he has received markedly less recognition for his performances.
As primarily a defensively minded figure he was always likely to receive less plaudits than the breakout striker, but this should definitely not take away from his talent.
A fantastic trait of Fosu-Mensah is his utility; able to play across the defence through to the midfield. If he were given a chance, a defensive midfield position would likely be best for the young Dutchman, allowing him to learn from the very best around him.
Having already made a number of appearances for the first team, the future certainly looks bright for Fosu-Mensah.
He certainly has the talent, Mourinho just has to give him the opportunity.
Callum Gribbin
Callum Gribbin is a particularly exciting talent, given that he has begun to receive a bit of media recognition for his exploits at youth level.
Despite not yet receiving his debut in the first team, The Metro report that United are looking to Gribbin and Marcus Rashford as the two players that they feel have the most potential from the developmental systems; with the club looking to build around the pair in the years to come.
This is quite the statement of intent from the club, but it is certainly encouraging for the future of Gribbin.
He has drawn parallels with Ryan Giggs for his style of play, which will give you some idea of what he is capable of.
With all that potential bottled up, it is only a matter of time before he is opened up on the United first team.
