da winzada777: Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has questioned referee Craig Thomson’s decision to award Rangers a throw in during the build up to Barrie McKay’s spectacular extra time strike to put the Gers 2-1 up.
da bet nacional: Celtic equalised again in extra time through Tom Rogic, but the match subsequently went to a penalty shoot out, which the Bhoys lost, and Gordon asked the referee why he overturned the decision of the assistant referee to give the throw in to Celtic. He told the Daily Record:
“The referee got involved in something when he couldn’t see it. There were three players in front of him. The assistant made the correct decision and he overturned that… I asked the ref why he made the decision and he felt it was the right call. But when he can’t see it, I don’t know how he can.”
Due to Thomson’s apparent obscured view, Gordon doesn’t understand why the fourth official, who was standing near the incident, couldn’t have told the referee that the throw in was Celtic’s, instead of Rangers’:
“The fourth official is there too. It’s all on that side. There were two officials looking at it and the ref got that wrong. But that doesn’t lose us the game. We can’t get caught up in that. If we take our chances, it doesn’t become a talking point. I don’t want to lay the blame at his door when we were out there for 120 minutes. I’m not having a go there. We have to look at ourselves. We didn’t lose because of one throw-in decision. We are to blame, not the referee.”
Rangers will now face fellow Championship side Hibernian in the final of the Scottish Cup.
The loss to their Old Firm rivals has increased the pressure on manager Ronny Deila and it is now believed that the Hoops will part company with the Norwegian at the end of the season after the Scottish club seal their five consecutive Premiership title.
