Weirdly, it will be 21 years since that famous final at the Camp Nou, in which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer netted an injury-time double to beat Bayern and win Sir Alex Ferguson’s side the treble; wouldn’t it have made more sense to have worn it in the season just gone seeing as it was exactly 20 years ago?

Also, quite embarrassingly, United won’t even be in the Champions League next season after failing to qualify, so it feels somewhat as if they are trying to get involved in the occasion despite not being involved – a sentiment summed up perfectly by the first tweet in the sequence below.
The shirt has ’90+3′ printed on the sleeve to signify the minute in which Solskjaer struck the winner; it’s safe to say it’s all a tad embarrassing.
