Per The Guardian, West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed his interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in January – claiming the coming transfer window could well be the difference between survival and relegation for the east Londoners.
At this point, we all know the pros and cons that come with Wilshere. The England international is unquestionably a talented player, who could be available on the cheap in January with his Gunners contract winding down and Transfermarkt valuing him at just £13.5million.
However, fitness remains a constant problem for the often-crocked 25-year-old, who hasn’t made more than 30 appearances in a single Premier League season since the 2010/11 campaign.
But considering the importance Moyes is placing on the January window, that makes a deal for Wilshere a huge risk – especially if it stops the Hammers signing an alternative central midfielder instead.
So, West Ham fans, should Moyes move to sign Wilshere in the new year or would a swoop derail the Scot’s revolution in east London? Let us know by voting below…
