Tottenham Hotspur still haven’t signed Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.
The deal has been dragging throughout the summer transfer window but Sky Sports News reports that the 19-year-old is set to finally complete the protracted transfer on deadline day.
The window closes at 5pm on Thursday and the attention of most supporters has, perhaps understandably, almost certainly been elsewhere.
Reports state that Spurs have agreed a deal to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis for £55m. He did not play for his club in a friendly against Las Palmas on Wednesday evening.
Reports also state that the club have attempted to broker a move for Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, while they have been heavily linked with Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes.
A deal for Sessegnon, thus, has slipped somewhat under the radar.

Yet sources have confirmed to Football FanCast that manager Mauricio Pochettino has been remarkably keen to acquire the teenager’s signature.
He is seen as a long-term replacement to England international Danny Rose, even if the left-back does not depart the club in the summer transfer window.
Sessegnon, of course, can also play as a winger, and stood out like a sore thumb in a poor Fulham team last season.
The club dropped into the Championship after winning just seven games in 2018/19 and yet Sessegnon still managed to score twice and provide six assists, with one of the latter coming against Spurs and another versus Arsenal.
He is a malleable wide man and a player who holds the ability to grow and develop under Pochettino’s tutelage.
The Argentine has been something of a full-back whisperer throughout his career, helping to develop and improve Luke Shaw and Ryan Bertrand at Southampton, while also helping both Danny Rose and Kyle Walker unlock their potential at Spurs.
Add into that Pochettino’s exceptional record with young players – Harry Winks, Juan Foyth and Dele Alli are the latest beneficiaries – and the cocktail is there for Sessegnon to only grow and improve in north London.
He is not Lo Celso. Nor is he Dybala.
But he could turn out to be one of the club’s most exciting and effective signings in quite some time.
